Our local police will be having a seized car auction next month…I though it might be a good cheap way to pick up a car for my teen daughter…Now I’ve never been to a police auction before so I have to ask do they give you a salvage title or just the paperwork for a sheriff’s lien and expect you to get a title on your own?
if it matters these will be sized DWI, DUI and not abandoned along the roadside cars…
For starters…..they have to have the title (clear/no lien) to sell the car to you. They will have already done the necessary paperwork to have a title on hand. Only if it was a previously salvage or municipal title will they convey the same to you. Then you take the title down to your DMV to get it properly registered in your name.
