Buying from an auction can be fun and you may save a lot of money. However the online auctions i do not recommend. Go to a local car auction in your local area and see the car up front. Then if you want the car bid on it. You then have no complaints.

haha dident i just answer this ??
o well public car auctions are repos,or just cars that the ar lot couldent sell you see a car lot can only keep a car on there lot for a certin amount of day (unless its private owned) and after that they send it to the auction or some times it can just be a car smeone traded in or even donated usally cars at public auctions are in decent shape and before the auctioin you get to go look at all the cars and you can write down what you thing about it and how much you will go up to it (make sure you bring a notepad) and also rite dwn the number of the car so you know the correct one to bid on and from there its just a game of cat and mouse you compete with other people to win the car and
TIP: dont bid straight out with your highest price make room to adjust your price if needed if you have any more question you can email me directly at todytoddtodd@yahoo.com

That is not true.

In Florida it is hard to get to be a dealer. It is much more that just a tax id.

The State of Florida considers you to be a dealer and requires you to have a dealer's license if you buy or sell any of the following in a 12-month period:

    * Three or more motor vehicles

    * One or more mobile homes

    * One or more recreational vehicles

All vehicle dealer licenses are administered and regulated through the Florida Division of Motor Vehicles. The application and approval process can be lengthy, and it varies depending on what type of vehicle you plan to sell: motor vehicles, mobile homes, or recreational vehicles.
Motor Vehicle Dealer

When you apply for a license, you'll need to specify which type you need:

Independent Dealer: allows you to deal in used motor vehicles only, for retail or wholesale sales.

Franchise Dealer: allows you to deal in new motor vehicles in agreement with a manufacturer. It also allows for the sale of used vehicles.

Wholesale Dealer: allows you to buy, sell, and deal only at wholesale prices with other licensed dealers.

Auctions: allows you to sell, through bidding, vehicles from other dealers. It also prohibits retail sales.

Requirements to Obtain a Florida Motor Vehicle Dealer License

    * Completed application

    * $25,000 bond or letter of credit

    * Garage liability insurance

    * Copy of business lease or proof of ownership of location

    * Approval (by DMV representative) of dealership location

    * Certificate proving completed dealer training seminar

    * Business documents (copies of corporate agreement, fictitious trade name registration, sales tax number, federal employee ID number)

    * Fingerprints

You can download a digital one for FREE at GM's Owner resource site.
They ask you to register there first but that's just so that they can get you the correct info & also so that they can help you with other pertinant info in the future.

After you down load, you can save it to your computer, and/or print it for future reference.

Here's the link to the site:

Call you local police or county sheriff. Get time, place and who runs the auction, call the auctioneer and get a registration form, be Prepared.
A web link for auctions on the other part of the country are useless.

Dont buy from ebay,it is too expensive.
Try Government and Police auctions .
Every day, the government confiscates, seizes and repossesses thousands of Vehicles.These vehicles are usually typically listed at 90% OFF their original value and auctions usually start at $100.

Two months ago,I bouht a near new SUV from online police auction.It only cost me $730.
I followed the guide on http://www.usedcarsinfo.info/index.php?t=auction .That site listed top 5 auction sites and help you choose the best one.
Hope that help you.

Sounds like an uphill battle. Competing head to head with AutoTrader, a company that has been in business for decades will be hard. Getting noticed and successfully driving business to your website won't be easy since all the competition is well established.

The only way to do it is to offer something the others don't. More features, lower fees, better photography, you're going to have to come up with a gimmick to stand out in a crowded market.

Just like trying to sell coffee when there is a Starbucks across the street. Good Luck

The one I went to let you look over the cars and most of them they would drive under it's own power into the auction block.
So go early and look over the cars you want to bid on, if you find a good one, most likely someone else looked at it too.

When buying a car always look for rust, then oil leaks, then body condition, Miles done, Size of car. Always take for a test drive on the open road, I advise to get a mechanic to check it over.

vikasintl, I found a review of several auto auction and government seized sites. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Government-Seized-Auto-Auctions.html These sites can probably answer your questions. However they cost a small fee to join, but I couldn't find any free resources online. Since the vehicles are always being sold, your signup fee is probably used to employ people to keep the site up to date.
