How do public car auctions work?

November 30th, 2009 Filed under: Public Car Auction by admin

I’m looking to buy a used car and have been told good deals can be found at auctions. I’m just worried about buying a lemon that looks good on the outside and a POS later. Any experiences would be helpful. Any fees, deposits etc?

The one I went to let you look over the cars and most of them they would drive under it’s own power into the auction block.
So go early and look over the cars you want to bid on, if you find a good one, most likely someone else looked at it too.

What do you think of www.MonsterMotors.com as an alternative to ebay motors?

November 28th, 2009 Filed under: Online Auto Auction by admin

Do you think there is space for another online auto auctions site?

Ebay motors is the 900 pound gorilla. It does pretty much whatever it wants. We are currently running about a 50% non-paying bidder rate, but it is still the only game in town. Yahoo auctions don’t get 5% of the traffic e-bay motors does and Yahoo is a major portal site.

Do Government Seized Car Auctions Work?

November 28th, 2009 Filed under: Seized Car Auction by admin

Hey, has anyone used one of these Government seized car auctions? I found a review about one…

http://www.squidoo.com/seizedgovernmentcarauctions

Can you really get awesome deals on cars and other vehicles?

I hear they do not work, there ! They Auction cars, and you better be there and see the cars, before the Auction. Some cars do not run at all. you better walk around and look them over. If you bid on them you may have to have them towed or bring your own flat bed . That is what I heard the last time.

Where can I find police auto or repo auctions?

November 26th, 2009 Filed under: Online Auto Auction by admin

I’m looking for police auctions for cars or repo car auctions online or in PA … free would be a huge plus… but I’ve signed up and paid for one and it was a fake so I want to know its a 100 percent real! Thanks!

These should be avoided; you don’t know the condition of the vehicles, the maintenance history, or anything important when purchasing a car from either one of these places. Look at www.autotrader.com or another reliable ’site. Be sure to see the car in person 1st before any $$ changes hands. Be wary of some of the websites (won’t use names but one ends with "list")…lots of ripoff people out there :}

Im trying to buy a car from the public auction?

November 26th, 2009 Filed under: Public Car Auction by admin

I just need a small car to get me to school and work, How much moneye do i need to bring with me in order to get a decent car?

I would NOT try the auction route unless you have someone with you who knows what they’re doing. You also need to be able to check out each individual one you’re interested in (most will give you the opportunity beforehand).

You can possibly get a good deal there, but most are in questionable condition and might need reconditioning. You have to keep in mind that most of these auctions will be attended by pros who know what to look for. The layman person looking for a good deal can get taken here very quickly.
